Although I'm sure Scott Joplin would turn in his grave if he ever heard this I love the way it's played. Clearly not Ragtime at this point it's always fun hearing how Stride pianists play Scott Joplins pieces.

I've read abut your "head turning moment" listened to it and immediately know, that you simply didn't understand what there ist happening. This passage is turning around and away the complete meaning of the music heard before towards a new and surprising direction. For me it really shows, that Fodor was indeed in this concert a great composer and musician.

A rather harsh view of a pleasant, innocuous piece. Certainly not Fodor's best composition, but I cannot agree that it is the "worst piano concerto ever."

If you like your Mendelssohn twinkling, and tasteful as a cup of English tea - if you like the way Murray Perahia serves up Mendelssohn and most everything else - then Pressler is not your man. He’s more in the mold of Rudolf Serkin, exciting, exhilarating, though without ever exceeding the bounds of taste . I like Pressler even more than the older master in this wonderful concerto. Thanks so much for sharing.

As a teenager, I bought this record. I had never heard of the violinist, but VOX managed to get the two romances on the same LP, and as I had very little pocket money, that was a decisive factor. I always enjoyed this recording, though my copy wore out years ago. A pity you could not find a better pressing - I can't recall a CD reissue.

This flexidisc was part of my dad's collection. I think it's over fifty years ago when I heard it. Thanks a lot for uploading!

You choose a good title for your video, a title that triggers everyone. And now 22.000 people know this charming and lovely concerto. So thank you for uploading en giving this title to the video, otherwise you wouln't have triggered me.

This is quite nice music, I think. I wonder why light and light is considered worse than heavy and dark. The same has been said about Shostakovich's second piano concerto, which has a beautiful and easy second movement. The second can well be said to be Sir Anold Bax's seventh, and last, symphony, which is a bright symphony. Why shouldn't composers who otherwise often write dark and gloomy music be able to occasionally write lighter pieces, and vice versa.

Does anyone else count the veils as Salome drops them, or (as here) attendants remove them?
